Position: Senior Engineering Manager
Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco (Hybrid – WeWork Midtown)
Reporting Line: Direct relationship with international client
English: Advanced conversational – must be able to communicate effectively with teams in India, the U.S., and other global regions
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (REAL MATCH):
Strong Technical Background
The candidate must have 6–10+ years of experience as a software developer. Tech stack can vary (Java, .NET, C#, etc.), but they must have hands-on experience building real products and applications.
How to identify? Look for titles like Software Engineer, Backend Developer, Tech Lead on their CV or LinkedIn.Natural Transition into Leadership
We’re not looking for people who started as Project Managers or Scrum Masters. We need someone who started in engineering and gradually moved up into leadership roles like Engineering Manager, Senior Manager, etc.
How to validate? Ask in interviews: “When and why did you decide to move from coding to leadership?”Client-Facing & Delivery Ownership
Must have experience leading teams, managing delivery timelines, working directly with clients, solving problems, and owning outcomes.
How to validate? Ask for specific examples of resolving client conflicts or leading critical deliveries.Experience with Distributed International Teams
This role requires global collaboration. Candidates must have worked with teams outside of LATAM—preferably India, the U.S., or Europe—and understand cultural and communication dynamics.
How to validate? Ask: “What regions have you worked with in your current or past roles? What challenges did you face working with India or the U.S.?”Cloud / Modernization / Migration Projects
We’re looking for someone with experience leading cloud migration or app modernization initiatives (not infrastructure or DevOps roles).
How to validate? Ask: “Have you led or participated in any cloud migration or modernization project? What was your role?”Technically Strong Hybrid Profile
Even if they no longer code, they should be comfortable participating in architecture discussions, code reviews, and solving complex technical challenges.
How to validate? Ask: “Do you still participate in code reviews or technical design discussions? What tools do you use?”
WHAT TO FILTER OUT (NO MATCH):
Project Managers who never coded
Scrum Masters or Agile Coaches without engineering background
DevOps, Infra, or Networking-focused professionals
Candidates with experience only in LATAM or Mexico
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced spoken English
6–10+ years of real software development experience
Proven leadership in tech & delivery environments
Experience with distributed teams
Experience in cloud and migration projects (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
